  7. The Frankie virus is quite rare. It appeared in Europe several years ago,

  9. but we only recently obtained a copy for analysis.

  13. Frankie only affects some kinds of Macintosh emulators running on Atari

  15. computers. We have reports that it was targeted against pirated versions
  16.  
  17. of the Aladin emulator.

  21. Frankie does not spread or cause any damage on any of the regular Apple
  22.  
  23. Macintosh computers.

  27. After a time delay, Frankie draws a bomb icon and the message ‚ÄúFrankie

  29. says: No more piracy!‚Äù at the top of the Atari screen, and then causes
  30.  
  31. the Atari to crash.

  35. Frankie only infects applications, not system files or document files. The
  36.  
  37. Finder also usually becomes infected. Applications do not have to be run to
  38.  
  39. become infected. For technical reasons, the virus only spreads under
  40.  
  41. Finder, not MultiFinder.
